Ready for a day of storytelling, fun literacy activities, and a treasure hunt? Kid Scoop News is thrilled to invite you to The Great Literacy Adventure!

As a proud Literacy Promise Partner, we are excited to be part of this interactive family event to highlight the Sonoma County Literacy Promise, which is our community-wide commitment to ensuring every child has the tools to succeed in reading and literacy.

  • Date: Saturday, April 11, 2026
  • Time: 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Location: NorCal Public Media, 311 Professional Center Drive, Rohnert Park
  • Cost: FREE! (Registration encouraged)

EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

  • Meet the Authors: Readings, signings and books with Spanish speaking author Matthew Gollub (The Jazz Fly and La Luna se fue de fiesta) and Marissa McGee (Free the Curls!).
  • The Literacy Quest: Complete 15+ fun activities to earn a free book from the Scholastic Book Treasure Chest! (while supplies last)
  • Famous Faces: PBS Kids characters, Buddy the Dinosaur and Carl the Collector, plus nationally recognized authors!
  • Be a Star: Step inside the KRCB radio studio and play with the PBS Green Screen.
    Community Fun: Rohnert Park Fire Truck, guest storytimes, and delicious food trucks: Sol Azteca, World Famous Corn Dogs, The Spot and Kona Ice.

Parking: Free parking is available next door at the Kaiser Permanente building (5900 State Farm Drive).
