A Visit To Shollenberger Park

Shollenberger Park in Petaluma is the center of 500 acres of publicly owned wetland where over 210 species of birds visit or nest.

Docents offer educational activities for 2nd and 3rd grade students. A classroom presentation is followed by Outdoor Exploration which includes a Bird Walk, Owl Food Web, Miwok Indian Lifestyle and a Habitat Walk.

Students from Mrs. Derby’s 3rd grade class at Meadow School in Petaluma visited in October and then wrote poems about their experience.
